Spencer Ha Tran is currently pursuing a BFA in painting and fibers at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Her work draws from her lived experiences as a Vietnamese-American, creating visual narratives that honor generational stories passed down through oral traditions. Integrating ideologies of the American Dream into her paintings, she explores the dialogue between heritage and identity. Through mark-making and stitching techniques, Tran examines the intersections of war, conflict, and global expansion, reflecting on their ongoing impact in contemporary life.
